Diwali Muhurat Trading 2025 Live Updates: BSE and NSE opened the 1-hour special trading session in the afternoon of October 21, as part of their traditional old Diwali Muhurat. At the opening bell, the Indian stock market traded bullish, with Sensex touching an intraday high of 84,665.44 and Nifty 50 climbing to hit the day's high of 25,934.35. Bank Nifty crossed over 58,150 levels. All indices traded on a positive note with media, metals and IT stocks outperforming.
Before the auspicious hour, the Indian stock market witnessed a strong buying sentiment during the celebration of main Diwali. On October 20th, Sensex surged by 411.18 points or 0.49%, to end at 84,363.37. And, Nifty 50 gained by 133.30 points or 0.52%, to close at 25,843.15.
Overall, this year, Sensex has climbed by 7.5% and Nifty has outperformed its counterpart by surging nearly 9% so far. Despite this performance, the Indian market has broadly underperformed during Samvat 2081.
The Muhurat trading 2025 will kick off the Vikram Samvat 2082 year till the next Diwali.

Stocks like Jindal Stainless, Welspun Corp and Lloyds Metals & Energy are top bulls up by 2% to 2.5%. Except for Hindustan Zinc and Hindalco, all other metal stocks are trading positive. NALCO and JSPL, NMDC and Hindustan Copper are up 1% each. The performance also comes at a time when international copper futures dipped to .95 per pound on Tuesday, reversing gains from the previous session on worry of downside risks to demand in the near-term.
