Coolie Box Office Collection: The South Indian superstar Rajnikanth has once again created his magic at the Indian box office by recording his career best opening of Rs 65 crore in Coolie, which hit the cinemas on August 14, a day before the long holiday weekend due to Independence Day and Janmashtami. Coolie rivalled with the Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer War 2; however, it outperformed the latter. Coolie also becomes the first Tamil movie to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in 2 days. The love for this action thriller is unstoppable!
Coolie Box Office Collection Day 2:
According to Sacnilk data, Coolie bagged a net collection of Rs 44.8 crore on Day 2. This is an early estimate.
Overall, the movie continued to see strong occupancy in Tamil. Overall, Tamil Occupancy stood at 78.83% on Friday. The afternoon and evening shows recorded robust occupancy of 86.25% and 86.37% in Tamil (2D).
In terms of city-wise, 96.33% occupancy was seen in Bengaluru, followed by 93% occupancy in Trichy, while 91% occupancy was seen in Coimbatore and Dindigul.
The Hindi occupancy of the movie was 53.07% on Friday.
Coolie Box Office Collection Day 1:
On the first day, the movie recorded a collection of Rs 65 crore, which became Rajnikanth's best career opening. Earlier, his career best opening was of Rs 60.25 crore through 2.0. The majority of demand is seen in the Tamil region.
Overall, on Day 1, Cooliee witnessed an overall 86.99% Tamil Occupancy on Thursday, August 14, 2025. While the blockbuster saw an overall 35.66% Hindi Occupancy.
So far, from August 14 to August 15, Coolie's net India collection is a whopping Rs 109.8 crore.
Is Coolie Tamil's Best Film?
Film Trade Analyst and Critic called Coolie's Day 1 performance as an 'earthshaking start'.
He said, "Coolie smashes Rs 68 crore to Rs 70 crore in India's all versions," adding Hindi version picked up Rs 5.50 to Rs 6.50 crore."
Furthermore, on Day 1, the critic said, "worldwide gross is over Rs 150 crore," adding that this makes Coolie the biggest opener for a Tamil film both in India and worldwide.
Not just that, Rajnikanth's Coolie becomes the first Tamil film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in 2 days in India, nett. It is also the seventh-best Indian film to hit Rs 151 crore worldwide gross on the opening day.
