CNG Prices Hike: IGL Increases CNG Prices By Rs 1 Per Kg In Delhi-NCR, Ghaziabad, More Cities; Full Rates Here

CNG Prices In India: The natural gas giant, Indraprastha Gas has increased Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices by Rs 1 per KG in selective cities like Delhi-NCR, Ghaziabad and Kanpur among others. However, prices of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) is kept unchanged across northern cities. The new CNG prices have come into effect from November 16.

The price of 1KG CNG is hiked to Rs 85.70 from earlier Rs 84.70.

CNG Prices In Kanpur:

1KG CNG is now available at Rs 88.92 per Kg from previous rate if Rs 87.92 per KG.

CNG Prices In Ghaziabad:

The price of 1Kg in Ghaziabad is increased to Rs 85.70 from previous rate of Rs 84.70.

What Is CNG?

As per IGL's FAQS check, CNG is a fossil fuel substitute for other auto fuels such as petrol, diesel, Auto LPG etc. For use in Automobiles as fuel, Natural Gas is compressed & dispensed to vehicles at high pressure of 200 Kg/cm² enhance the vehicle on board storage capacity.

At present, almost all the auto-rickshaws and taxies are plying on CNG. CNG is also being supplied to transport undertakings such as DTC's, UPSRTC's and DIMTS Cluster Busses. Besides these, passenger cars, postal vans, school buses, courier vans, Light and Heavy commercial vehicles are also enjoying the benefits of CNG.

Notably, IGL has been supplying CNG to over 15 Lakhs vehicles, through its robust network of above 725 CNG stations in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Meerut , Kanpur, Fatehpur, Hamirpur, Rewari, Gurugram, Karnal and Kaithal.

It needs to be noted that CNG is seen to be affordable and gives better mileage to vehicles than compared to vehicles using petrol and diesel. CNG being an indigenous fuel also saves valuable foreign exchange.

On the other hand, PNG prices are kept changed since October 18, 2025. PNG in cities like Noida, Greater Noida, NCT of Delhi and Ghaziabad is available at Rs 48.46 per SCM. While PNG continues to be at Rs 50.27 per SCM in cities like Ajmer, Pali, and Rajsamand. In Kanpur, PNG is at Rs 49.95 per SCM.

What Is PNG?

PNG is mainly methane - CH4 with a small percentage of other higher hydrocarbons. The ratio of carbon to hydrogen is least in methane and hence it burns almost completely making it the cleanest fuel. It is procured from the oil / gas wells and transported through a network of pipelines across the country.
