Bihar Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, released the first instalment of Bihar Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana. Over 75 lakh women have received the first instalment under the newly launched women welfare scheme via direct bank transfer.

PM Modi launched Bihar Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, also known as Mahila Rozgar Yojana, via video conferencing on Friday. Nearly 75 lakh women have been registered under the scheme so far, announced PM Modi today. More number of women are coming forward to register for the scheme.

"PM Modi has always been concerned about the development and welfare of the country, especially for empowering women. PM Modi has implemented numerous schemes to honour women, and in Bihar too, PM Modi is going to launch a scheme worth thousands of crores to empower women," Pradesh Minister Narendra Kashyap told ANI on Friday.

The new financial assistance scheme will support budding women entrepreneurs by providing an initial assistance of Rs 10,000 through direct benefit transfer to start their business.

Bihar Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana Start Date

The registration under Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana began earlier in September. The first instalment under the scheme was released on Friday, September 26.

Earlier, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had unveiled a dedicated portal for applications registering for the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar scheme. The primary aim is to assist one woman from each family in Bihar in pursuing her chosen employment path. The Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Committee (Jeevika) will oversee its implementation.

Mahila Rojgar Yojana: What Is The Eligibility?

To qualify for the scheme, applicants must meet specific criteria. Only one woman per family can apply, and she must be between 18 and 60 years old. The applicant or her husband should not be income tax payers or employed in government service, whether regular or contractual.

A family is defined as a husband, wife, and their unmarried children. Additionally, an unmarried adult woman without living parents is considered a single family for eligibility purposes. Members linked to self-help groups (SHG) in urban areas are eligible for benefits.

Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana: What Are the Benefits?

The Mahila Rojgar Yojana provides an initial financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to eligible women. According to the official website of the scheme, women can get additional financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh as per requirement after assessment.
The Urban Development and Housing Department will collaborate for implementation in urban areas. This partnership ensures that women in cities also benefit from the scheme's offerings.

How To Apply?

For women in urban areas, visit the official website of the scheme, ie Jeevika, ie www.brlps.in. The website was launched recently, and people may face issues with the website initially.
-Once you can open the website. Select the option for registration.
-Enter your mobile number, Aadhaar number, bank account details and other types of business.
-Applicant will have to upload a scanned copy of his Aadhaar card, bank passbook (which contains name, account number, IFSC code), photograph and signature on a plain page.
-To avail the benefits of the scheme, it is mandatory for interested women to join a self-help group.
-After receiving their online application, they will be contacted by the community resource worker working in their area to add them to the group. The benefits of the scheme will be provided only after joining the group.
-Once the registration is done, the application will be approved after physical verification.
