Bihar Election 2025 Exit Poll Predictions Record Voter Turnout

Bihar witnessed an impressive voter turnout of 66.91% in the second and final phase of polling, marking the highest-ever participation rate in the state since 1951, as confirmed by the Election Commission of India.

All major exit polls released after voting concluded have predicted a comfortable victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The projections indicate that the NDA could secure well beyond the majority mark of 122 seats in the 243-member Bihar Legislative Assembly, suggesting a continuation of Nitish Kumar's leadership.

In contrast, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), which includes the Congress and Left parties, is expected to fall short of the majority mark, with most polls estimating the alliance to win 100 or fewer seats.

According to Axis My India (AMI), the NDA could secure between 121 and 141 seats with a projected 43% vote share, while the Mahagathbandhan is predicted to win 98 to 118 seats with an estimated 41% vote share. Smaller parties, including Prashant Kishore's Jan Suraaj Party, may pick up one or two seats.

Another major survey, Today's Chanakya, has forecast a stronger showing for the NDA, predicting around 160 seats (±12) for the ruling alliance and about 77 seats (±13) for the Mahagathbandhan. The projections, if accurate, suggest a significant swing in favour of the NDA compared to the 2020 election.
