Bihar Assembly Election Results 2025 Live Updates: The Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) emerged as the biggest winner of Bihar's assembly election in 2025. JD-U, which is in alliance with NDA, sets the victory path for the saffron party. With this, BJP breaks its own 2020 record performance in Bihar election. However, Tejashwi Yadav's RJD is holding the third spot, pushing Lalu Prasad's son's Bihar dream for another term.
Indian stock market traded cautiously. Sensex is struggling to retain 84,350 levels, while Nifty 50 hovers a little over 25,840. The benchmarks are in red but recovered some of the early losses. 
The Election Commission of India (ECI) commenced the counting of poll votes at around 8:00 am on November 14.
BJP, Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal are facing each other in an intense battle to win the 243 members legislative assembly of Bihar. On this significant day, investors will closely track the Bihar election result. The immediate resistance for Nifty is now seen at 26,000.
Ahead of the election outcomes, Sensex and Nifty erased their trading gains on November 13, and ended flat despite a bullish trend in the global market. As per experts, the market remained volatile ahead of the Bihar poll results.
The Bihar election polls were conducted between November 6th and November 11th in a phased manner. The parties competing for power will require winning 122 seats for a majority win. The tenure of the current Bihar Legislative Assembly is going to end on 22 November 2025. The new winning party will take over after that with the formation of a new government, including a new cabinet and chief minister.

Bihar Election Results Live Updates: Stock Market Stays Under Pressure
Despite expectation of historic win for NDA in Bihar, Indian stock market continues to be under pressure. Sensex is down by 265 points to trade around 84,210 levels. While Nifty 50 struggled to hol 25,800 and is down by nearly 80 points. Bank Nifty slipped by over 105 points. Nifty IT is the biggest loser with nearly 2% decline, followed by Nifty Metal and Nifty Auto who fell by nearly 1% each.
Bihar Election Results Live Updates: Mahagathbandhan Loses Seats
As per the latest ECI update, the NDA party emerged to be the largest winner with 90 seats, followed by its ally JD-U with 81 seats. The Mahagathbandhan party however is in despair as Tejashwi Yadav's RJD keeps losing seats as the counting continues. RJD now has bagged 28 seats, while Congress is out of the competition with 5 seats.

Forex Market Live Updates: Indian Rupee In Tight Range
In the early hours of November 14, Indian rupee traded around 88.7 per dollar, which is near its all-time lows after CPI inflation print sparked expectations of a rate cut in December policy. In a big showdown, the longest-sworn former chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, will face Tejashwi Prasad Yadav in this assembly election 2025. Tejashwi is the youngest son of former CMs Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. Earlier, Tejashwi served as Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar for two terms. Before his political career, Yadav was a professional cricketer. Tejashwi took the Chief Ministerial face of the Mahagathbandhan on October 23, 2025.
