Bharti Airtel Q2 Results: Net Profit Jumps 89% YoY, Consolidated Revenue Up 26%, ARPU & Customer Base Rise

Telecom major Bharti Airtel on Monday reported a sharp 89% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its consolidated net profit for the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2026 (Q2FY26), reaching Rs 6,792 crore, up from Rs 3,593 crore in the same period last year. The profit after tax (PAT) is attributable to the owners of the parent company, signaling robust financial performance across its operations.

Airtel's mobile Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) rose to Rs 256 from Rs 233 in Q2FY25. The overall customer base stood at 624 million across 15 countries, according to the company's filing to stock exchanges.

The company's EBITDA for the quarter reached Rs 29,919 crore, up 36% YoY, with an EBITDA margin of 57.4%. The adjusted EBITDA (EBITDAaL) stood at Rs 26,600 crore, up 42% YoY, with a margin of 51%, reflecting strong operational efficiency.

Airtel India Business Q2FY26: Strong Revenue Growth, Robust EBITDA and Continued Capex Investment

In India, the mobile customer base stood at 450 million at the end of September 2025. Domestic revenue rose 22.6% YoY to Rs 38,690 crore, while EBITDA grew 34.2% YoY to Rs 23,204 crore, maintaining a strong margin of 60%. The company's capex for the quarter was Rs 9,643 crore, reflecting continued investment in network expansion and digital services.

Airtel Africa Business Q2 Performance: Customer Base Reaches 174 Million, Revenue and Margins Show Strong YoY Growth

Airtel Africa's customer base reached 174 million as of September 30, 2025. Revenue in constant currency increased 24.2% YoY. EBITDA margin in constant currency improved to 48.8%, up 238 basis points YoY, while the EBIT margin rose to 32.3%, up 190 basis points YoY. The company invested Rs 1,719 crore in capital expenditure for the quarter.

Airtel Network Expansion and Digital Partnerships

During Q2FY26, Airtel added 2,479 towers and 20,841 mobile broadband base stations, deploying 12,796 new towers over the past 12 months and rolling out 44,104 km of fiber.

In addition, Airtel partnered with Perplexity, offering a 12-month Perplexity Pro subscription free of cost to all its Mobile, Homes, and Digital TV customers. The service provides an AI-powered search and answer engine capable of delivering real-time, conversational, and deeply researched responses, enhancing user convenience and value.
