Bengaluru Weather Alert: Heavy Rainfall Expected Over Next Two Days, IMD Issues Advisory
Bengaluru Weather Today: The monsoon continues to hold its grip over the city, and residents should prepare for a week of cloudy skies, scattered showers, and afternoon thunderstorms. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru weather from August 11 to August 14 will see moderate rainfall with overcast conditions, followed by lighter showers on August 15 and 16.
Daytime temperatures will stay comfortable at around 26-29°C, while nights will be cooler, dipping to 19-20°C. Humidity will peak at about 85% in the mornings, gradually easing as the day progresses.

Current Weather Conditions in Bengaluru
As of this morning, Bengaluru's typical monsoon weather is currently underplay as the city is covered in thick cloud cover with mild humidity and a light breeze. While it's not cold enough for sweaters, the damp, overcast air means keeping an umbrella or raincoat handy is a smart choice.
Bengaluru Weekly Weather Forecast
Monday to Thursday (Aug 11-14): Expect mostly cloudy skies with afternoon thundershowers. Highs will hover near 26-27°C (78-80°F), and lows will stay close to 19-20°C.
Friday to Sunday (Aug 15-17): The city will continue to see passing showers and occasional thunderstorms, with slightly cooler daytime highs between 24 and 26°C and breezy evenings.
Why August is a Rainy Month for Bengaluru?
Bengaluru's tropical savanna climate is because of its elevation, making monsoons here cooler and more pleasant than in India's coastal regions. However, August is one of the wettest months of the year, often followed by the heavier downpours of September and October.
Earlier in the season, rainfall was uneven; June and July brought light showers despite a rainy May. This inconsistency in Bengaluru rain has prompted authorities to manage water reservoirs carefully, especially as the southwest monsoon continues.
Advisory for Residents and Tourists
With Bengaluru weather today already showing signs of an active monsoon, the next few days are set to bring both refreshing relief and occasional travel disruptions.
One should carry rain gear, as afternoon storms and rainfall in Bengaluru are unpredictable.
Residents are advised to plan outdoor activities wisely. Spots like Cubbon Park and Lalbagh are beautiful in the rain but may require flexibility in timing.
Avoid waterlogged areas in Bengaluru and take alternate routes, as major traffic issues will persist during the Bengaluru monsoon.
