People living in Bengaluru will experience a scheduled power outage today, November 23, as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) will carry out major maintenance work in the city's electricity network. According to the official BESCOM notification, the Bengaluru power cut is part of planned upgrades at the 220/66/11 kV substation and associated transmission lines, impacting several residential and industrial zones.

The BESCOM power outage will be from 10 AM to 5 PM today, but the utility has advised consumers to stay prepared, as the shutdown may affect both households and commercial establishments.

Reason Behind the Bengaluru Power Cut
BESCOM stated that the power cut in Bengaluru on November 23 is necessary for substation strengthening and repair, routine line maintenance, system upgrades, load balancing improvements, and safety-related enhancements. Such BESCOM maintenance work is usually planned in advance to prevent unexpected blackouts and ensure a stable electricity supply in Bengaluru during peak demand periods.
