Bengaluru Power Cut on Nov 18: BESCOM Announces Major 7 Hour Long Outage: Check Affected Areas
Bengaluru residents will face a major power outage tomorrow, i.e., November 18, as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited, or BESCOM, has announced a scheduled power shutdown for maintenance work at the Adugodi Power Station. The Bengaluru power cut will take place on Tuesday between 10:00 am and 05:00 pm, affecting a large number of residential and commercial areas in the city.

According to the official BESCOM power cut notification, the shutdown is required to carry out crucial electrical maintenance and infrastructure upgrades to ensure better electricity supply reliability in the coming months. Authorities have requested residents to plan their day in advance to avoid inconvenience.
Areas Affected by the November 18 Bengaluru Power Shutdown
As per the BESCOM notice, the power outage will impact the following neighbourhoods, including Adugodi, Salapuria Tower, Big Bazar, Accenture, KMF Godown, Nanjappa Layout, New Mico Road, Chikkalakshmi Layout, Mahalingeshwara Badavane, Bangalore Dairy, Forum, Rangadasappa Layout, Lakkasandra, Wilson Garden, Chinnayanapalya, Chandrappa Nagar, Nimhans Administrative Block, Bande Slum, Sunnada Kallu, Brundavana Slum, Lallji Nagar, Shamanna Garden, NDRI Police Quarters and nearby surrounding areas.
These include important IT offices, corporate buildings, residential colonies, and marketplaces, making it one of the largest scheduled power outages planned in recent weeks.
Reason Behind Bengaluru Power Cut
BESCOM said that the outage is a part of a planned Adugodi Power Station maintenance operation, which includes system upgrades, repairs and equipment replacement, strengthening of electricity distribution lines and improving power stability in South Bengaluru.
The electricity board said that such scheduled maintenance is necessary to avoid unexpected outages and ensurebetter electricity quality for consumers in the long term.
Advisory for Residents During Bengaluru Power Cut
BESCOM has urged people living and working in the affected areas to make the following arrangements in advance and be prepared for the seven-hour power cut:
- Charge essential devices before the outage.
- Store adequate water if dependent on electric pumps
- Plan office work-from-home requirements in advance
- Keep emergency lights, power banks, and UPS devices ready.
