Bengaluru Power Cut: BESCOM Confirms 8-Hour Daily Shutdown Across City for 9 Days; Check Affected Areas
Bengaluru Power Cut: The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced scheduled power cuts in Bengaluru from October 23 to October 31st. The temporary BESCOM power outages are being implemented to carry out crucial maintenance, repair, and upgrade works across several substations and 11 kV feeder lines in the city. Residents in areas affected will experience intermittent electricity supply during this Bengaluru power cut.

Reason for Bengaluru Power Shutdown
According to the official BESCOM press release, these Bengaluru power cuts are necessary to facilitate ongoing infrastructure upgradation projects and to enhance electricity distribution all over the city. BESCOM said that it will carry out essential works such as line strengthening, transformer replacement, feeder maintenance, etc., during the outage.
Officials stated that the Bengaluru power cut will be 8 hours long and will occur between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, but timings may differ based on the work progress in each area.
List of Areas Affected by BESCOM Power Cut
The BESCOM maintenance schedule from October 23 to 31, 2025, includes some key Bengaluru zones. Affected areas include Banashankari, JP Nagar, Jayanagar, BTM Layout, Vijayanagar, Nagarbhavi, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Kengeri, Chandra Layout, Vidyaranyapura, Yelahanka, HSR Layout, Koramangala, Indiranagar, Mahadevapura, KR Puram, Electronic City, and Whitefield.
These BESCOM power cuts will be undertaken phase-wise to minimise disruptions. The company has assured that all maintenance work will be completed promptly, and the electricity supply will be restored as soon as the upgrade work is completed.

The scheduled power cuts in Bangalore could impact daily life and business operations, especially in areas with high IT and commercial density. Many residents have reported concerns about internet connectivity, home appliances, and office operations during the BESCOM outage hours.
