Another round of Bengaluru power cuts is scheduled for today and tomorrow, Oct 13 & 14. Residents in the affected areas of Bengaluru will experience power disruptions this week, as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced an 8-hour scheduled power outage. The Bengaluru power cut will take place between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, affecting several localities in the southern region of the city.
According to the official notification issued by BESCOM on its X handle, the temporary electricity interruption is necessary to carry out link line work at the Nagarghatta and Narasikatte substations. These essential maintenance activities are part of ongoing infrastructure enhancement efforts to strengthen Bengaluru's power distribution system and ensure uninterrupted electricity in the future.

Reason for the Power Outage

BESCOM has confirmed that the link line work involves upgrading existing connections and improving load management systems at the Nagarghatta and Narasikatte substations. Such upgrades are aimed at reducing voltage fluctuations, minimising transmission losses, and enhancing overall power reliability in the region.

Officials stated that these planned Bengaluru power cuts are a part of routine maintenance measures and requested citizens' cooperation during the outage period. Residents also faced power cuts in Bengaluru over the weekend. In the Srinivasapura region, BESCOM maintenance work was being carried out at the 66/11 kV substation as part of the HT line reinstatement project. The routes and villages affected were Chilume, Meenakalle, Kollaru, and Kotepalya (H8), where residents experienced a complete power outage from 10 AM to 5 PM on October 11 (Friday) and October 12 (Sunday)
