Bengaluru: BBMP Koramangala Ejipura Under-Construction Flyover Now has a Social Media Account
While Bengaluru is known as a tech hub full of innovation, a bizarre incident recently caught attention. The Koramangala-Ejipura flyover in Bengaluru, which is still under construction, has launched its own X account.
The flyover that has been under construction for over 8 years has now got its own social media account, which is managed by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The handle, named 'BBMP Koramangala Ejipura Flyover Project,' shares regular updates on the project's status and updates on construction progress.
BBMP Koramangala-Ejipura Flyover Project
The Koramangala-Ejipura flyover is designed to be Bengaluru's second-longest flyover, spanning approximately 2.38 to 2.5 kilometres. It aims to ease traffic congestion on the heavily used 100 Feet Road corridor, connecting Ejipura Main Road (Inner Ring Road Junction) with Kendriya Sadan Junction. Once completed, the structure will provide signal-free access through seven busy junctions, significantly improving Bengaluru traffic flow in the Koramangala, Ejipura, and Sarjapur Road areas.
The project was launched in 2017, where Simplex Infrastructures was the original contractor. The construction in the initial phase was quite slow and was only 42% complete in the five years. Later on, the contract was terminated by the urban development departments, and Hyderabad-based contractor BSCPCL was appointed in November 2023.

Current Status
As of July 2025, approximately 60% of construction is complete, and 70 out of 84 pillars are finished.
Along with 437 out of 762 precast segments installed as per several reports. Down and up ramps are underway on the Madiwala-Ejipura side and the Sarjapur loop. Pedestrian walkways are near completion; asphalt laying beneath the flyover is in progress. Primary construction (installation/casting) occurs at night (11pm-5am) to reduce traffic disruption.
The initial estimate for the construction of Ejipura Flyover was Rs. 128 - Rs. 204 crore, as per sources.
As per the BBMP estimate, the revised deadline for the completion of the projects is expected to be March 2026, seeing the past delays and current work pace. The segment completion is expected by the end of 2025, while the final site and ramp works are to finish shortly after.
The Ejipura flyover will make seven major junctions signal-free, easing severe congestion in Koramangala and adjoining corridors. Once complete, motorists will benefit from faster, smoother connectivity between Ejipura, Koramangala, and Sarjapur Road.
