Bengaluru Airport Issues Passenger Advisory: Fog Triggers Low Visibility, Flight Delays Possible

Passengers travelling through bengaluru airport over the next few days have been advised to plan their journeys carefully as low visibility caused by dense fog may disrupt flight operations and road traffic leading to Bengaluru airports. The weather-related travel advisory was issued on December 16 by BIAL warning passengers of possible flight delays and traffic congestion on airport routes.

Bengaluru Airport Issues Passenger Advisory: Fog Triggers Low Visibility

According to the advisory by Kempegowda Airport, fog conditions are expected to persist over the coming days, impacting both airside operations and ground connectivity. Travellers heading to the Bengaluru airport may face slower movement on approach roads, especially during early morning and late evening hours when visibility tends to be at its lowest.

Passengers Asked to Arrive Early at Airports & Stay in Touch With Airlines

In its advisory, Bengaluru Airport authorities have urged passengers to arrive well in advance of their scheduled departure time to allow sufficient time for check-in, security screening, and boarding formalities. Traffic congestion on airport approach roads is expected due to reduced visibility, which could increase travel time.

Bengaluru Airport authorities have emphasised that arriving early can help passengers avoid last-minute stress caused by traffic snarls or delayed flight boarding procedures.

The advisory also urges passengers to stay in regular contact with their respective airlines for real-time updates on flight schedules, delays, or rescheduling. Airlines are expected to adjust operations depending on visibility conditions, and passengers are advised to monitor official airline communication channels.
