Two significant celebrations will coincide on October 7, ie, Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima. Both events occur on the full moon day, known as Purnima, in the Hindu lunar month of Ashwin. Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of the revered sage Maharishi Valmiki, who authored the epic Ramayana.

According to the RBI holiday calendar, October 7 has been marked as a bank holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) determines holidays for banks under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. These holidays include public holidays, the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, as well as national, regional, and religious events.

Additionally, Shimla will see bank closures again on October 10 for Karva Chauth. This festival is primarily observed by married women who fast for their husbands' well-being. Outside these regions, banks will function normally across India.

On October 11, all banks nationwide will be closed as it falls on a second Saturday. According to RBI guidelines, banks do not operate on the second and fourth Saturdays each month. This routine closure allows employees a regular break while ensuring consistent service throughout other days.
