Bank Holiday Today: Is Bank Open Or Closed on 24 September 2025 For Navratri Day 3? Check State-wise List
As the Navratri festivities continue across India, many are left wondering whether banks will remain operational on the third day of the festival. With multiple religious holidays observed in different states throughout the month, public confusion about bank working days has increased.
Bank Holiday Today on Navratri Day 3 on September 24, 2025
To clarify, banks across India will remain open today, September 24, as the date is not recognised as an official bank holiday under the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) schedule. Unlike select dates in the month reserved for state-wise observances, the third day of Navratri does not warrant a nationwide or regional shutdown of banking services.

When Are Banks Closed Next?
As per RBI norms, all banks in India remain closed on all Sundays and on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. Therefore, the next round of bank closures will occur on:
- Saturday, September 27 (Fourth Saturday)
- Sunday, September 28
These closures are part of the regular RBI-mandated non-working days and apply nationwide, irrespective of local festivals.

September 30: Bank branches will be closed in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Imphal, Jaipur, Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi for Maha Ashtami or Durga Ashtami, the eighth day of Durga Puja.
What About Sundays and Other Weekly Holidays?
In addition to the state-wise holidays, banks remain closed nationwide on:
September 7 - Sunday
September 14 - Sunday
September 21 - Sunday
September 13 - Second Saturday
September 27 - Fourth Saturday
September 28 - Sunday
This regular closure schedule means that while banking operations continue uninterrupted on most weekdays, planning around weekends is still necessary for physical branch visits.
Access to Banking Services During Holidays
Even when branches are shut, banking services do not completely halt. Online banking, mobile apps, UPI payments, and ATM services remain functional across India. Unless affected by rare technical issues or planned maintenance, digital banking ensures customers can continue to make transactions, check balances, and even apply for loans without stepping into a branch.
