We've now entered the second half of June, and more state-specific bank holidays are lined up later in the month. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, banks across various states will remain closed on several days due to regional festivals between June 16 and June 30. A bank holiday across India this month was seen during the Bakrid celebration on June 7th. Additionally, on June 11th, banks were closed in Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh due to Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti / Saga Dawa celebrations.

For the week of June 16 to June 22, there is only one bank holiday, which falls on Sunday, June 22, 2025. As per RBI norms, all banks in India remain closed on Sundays, and this applies uniformly across public and private sector banks.
If you're wondering about Saturday, June 21, it's worth noting that banks will remain open, as it is the third Saturday of the month. Banks in India follow a 5-day workweek pattern with closures on the second and fourth Saturdays while being open on the first and third Saturdays.

Even though the physical bank branches will be closed on the above-mentioned dates, online banking services will remain functional 24x7. Customers can continue using NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, UPI, and mobile banking apps for fund transfers and other transactions. Services like debit/credit card use, ATM withdrawals, and mobile-based chequebook requests will also remain unaffected.
