AppleCare One Launched: All-in-One Device Protection for iPhone, iPad & Apple Watch at These Prices
Apple has officially unveiled a new subscription-based device protection service called AppleCare One, offering a more flexible and cost-effective alternative to its traditional AppleCare+ plan. Priced at $19.99 per month, the new plan covers up to three Apple devices under a single subscription-marking a major shift in Apple's approach to after-sales support and device protection.
Currently available exclusively in the United States, AppleCare One is widely expected to make its way to international markets, including India, where Apple has been steadily expanding its services and retail footprint.
Major Upgrade Over AppleCare+
Unlike AppleCare+, which requires separate subscriptions for each device, AppleCare One consolidates coverage into a single flat-rate plan, significantly reducing costs and administrative hassle for users with multiple Apple devices.
AppleCare+ Plan includes:
- Unlimited accidental damage repairs, including drops, cracks, and water damage.
- Theft and loss protection for iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches-now with up to three claims per year, one more than what AppleCare+ offers.
- Free battery replacement if the battery capacity falls below 80%.
- 24/7 customer support for both hardware and software issues.
- Access to certified Apple repair services.
- Automatic device management, meaning new Apple devices swapped via trade-in will be auto-enrolled under the same plan.
AppleCare One also breaks from AppleCare+'s enrolment limitations. While AppleCare+ requires users to sign up within 60 days of purchasing a device, AppleCare One allows users to add devices up to four years old, provided they are in good working condition.
Apple Products Pricing Model & Potential Savings
AppleCare One's biggest draw is its cost-saving bundled pricing. For $19.99 per month, users can protect three Apple devices, including any combination of iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches. Additional devices can be added for $5.99 per device, per month.
This new model contrasts sharply with the device-specific pricing of AppleCare+. For example, AppleCare+ for an iPhone typically costs $11.99-$13.99/month in the U.S., with separate fees for iPads and Apple Watches. By consolidating coverage, AppleCare One could save users up to $11 monthly-a notable reduction for multi-device households.
Will AppleCare One Launch in India?
Though AppleCare One has not yet been officially announced for the Indian market, Apple's track record of expanding services globally strongly suggests a launch could be on the horizon.
Pricing predictions for India are based on current AppleCare+ rates, which closely mirror U.S. prices. For instance, the AppleCare+ monthly plans for the iPhone 16 series in the U.S. range between $11.99 and $13.99, while in India, the equivalent prices are Rs 1,242 to Rs 1,742, a relatively minor difference considering taxes and import duties.
If AppleCare One follows a similar pricing strategy, the monthly subscription in India could be expected in the Rs 1,700-Rs 2,100 range for the base three-device plan with additional device coverage potentially priced around Rs 500 per month.
