Apple iPhone 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max Launch In India: iPhone 17 Series Production; What To Expect?

The much-awaited iPhone 17 series is likely to be launched in September 2025. On August 25, the Karnataka minister, MB Patil, confirmed that the production of the iPhone 17 series has commenced from the Foxconn unit based in Bengaluru. The iPhone 17 series is expected to be equipped with a larger display, modem chip, ProMotion, wi-fi 7 and will be ultra-thin, reportedly.

Minister for Commerce & Industries, Infrastructure GoK, MB Patil said, Our government's innovative schemes, along with new thoughts, are making the dream of Kannadigas come true. "Made in Karnataka" products are being shared worldwide, which has greatly increased our prestige."

He added, "The Foxconn facility in Devanahalli has begun production of the iPhone 17." Adding, he said, "Towards our goal of making Karnataka a global manufacturing hub, these results fill us with determination, as we stride firmly towards becoming a $1 trillion economic power."

Devanahalli, a town in Bengaluru, is the home-ground to Chinese company, Foxconn who is the largest producer and manufacturer of iPhones for Apple Inc. The Foxconn unit in Bengaluru is the size of 220 football fields.

iPhone 17 + iPhone 17 Air + iPhone + iPhone 17 Pro + iPhone 17 Pro Max Features:

Four new models are likely to join the iPhone 17 family, with Apple this time may not be looking to rope in a Plus feature. Instead, expectation of standard iPhone 17, followed by iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max is likely to be the face of iPhone 17 series.

iPhone 17 Air is expected to features that could easily be compared to Apple's MacBook Air or iPad Air, while iPhone 17 Pro could have features similar to MacBook Pro or iPad Pro.

As per Mac Rumours report, this is because the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will have 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display sizes like the current 16 Pro models, the iPhone 17 Air will be right in the middle of those two devices in terms of size. Apple is also expected to increase the overall size of the standard iPhone 17 to 6.3 inches to match the size of the iPhone 17 Pro.

The Mac Rumours report cited that some early rumours have suggested the slimmer iPhone 17 Air could be a high-end device that's more expensive than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but it's actually going to be a mid-tier device that's less expensive than the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, but more expensive than the iPhone 17. In that way, it will replace the "Plus" iPhone in the lineup as a middle ground in price between the 17 and the 17 Pro.

Other reports have stated that iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max could flaunt 48MP main lens camera, coupled with 48MP each as periscope telephoto lens and ultra-wide lens. This will be a huge upgrade from the previous iPhone series 12MP versions.

Additionally, Pro and Pro Max in iPhone 17 series could be powered with A19 Pro processor and 12GM RAM.

Meanwhile, iPhone 17 Air could have a single-rear camera of 48MP, on the other hand, the standard iPhone 17 could be packed with 48MP primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor.

iPhone 17 + iPhone 17 Air + iPhone + iPhone 17 Pro + iPhone 17 Pro Max Prices:

The standard iPhone 17 is expected to be between Rs 79,000 to Rs 80,000. While as per Times Now report, leaks suggested that the Apple iPhone 17 Pro will hit the Indian market at a price of Rs 1,34,999 for a 12GB RAM with 128GB storage variant. The device is expected to be available for $1,199 in USA, AED 4403 in Dubai, and 886 Pounds in UK.

Additionally, the Digit.In report said, the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to be priced at around Rs 1,65,000 in the Indian market. To recall, the iPhone 16 Pro Max was introduced at Rs 1,44,990.

Notably, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be costlier than the standard iPhone 17, to around Rs 83,000, as per reports.

As per reports, iPhone 17 series could be launched on September 9, while the pre-orders for the phones could begin from September 12. The sale is likely to begin from September 19. Apple analyst Mark Gurman has predicted new iPhone launches between September 9th to September 10th.

It needs to be noted that Apple Inc has not made any official announcement related to features, prices and launch date of iPhone 17 series. And hence, GoodReturns could not confirm the above-mentioned data.
