Amul Remains India’s Best Food Brand in 2025; Karnataka’s Nandini Milk Beats Dabur To Secure 4th Spot

One of the most famous Indian cooperatives, Amul, has maintained its dominance as the country's best Indian food brand in 2025. Apart from the Gujarat-based entity, Taj, Asian Paints, Hero, and Tanishq emerged as the strongest Indian brands of 2025. Indian conglomerates like Tata, Infosys, and HDFC Group have remained among the top 5 most valuable Indian Brands of 2025, revealed Brand Finance's latest report.

Amul Emerges As India's Top Food Brand

With a brand value of $4.1 billion, Amul retained its first rank on the list of India's top food brands. The Indian cooperative was followed by the Delhi-NCR-based Mother Dairy with $1.15 billion brand value. After the two companies, Britannia stood on the third rank on India's top food brand list.

Nandini Beats Dabur To Secure 4th Spot

Karnataka-based dairy cooperative Nandini emerged as the fourth strongest Indian top food brand by defeating Dabur, which was at fifth place. Formed in 1946, Amul is among the most iconic Indian brands that played a crucial role in India's white revolution, also known as Operation Flood. Amul has retained its position as India's No.1 food brand, according to the Brand Finance India 100-2025 report, as per the statement by Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) that markets under the Amul brand.

Nandini milk brand is owned by Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) and it was founded in 1974. The KMF was founded by the Karnataka government. Ever since its inception, KMF-owned Nandini has become a household name in Karnataka.

KMF is a nearly 50 year old organisation which covers around 24,000 Villages procuring about 85 Lakh kg of milk per day. Emphasising on "Quality Excellence from Cow to Consumer", KMF heralding economic, social and cultural prosperity in the lives of our milk producer members by promoting vibrant, self-sustaining and holistic cooperative dairy development in Karnataka State.

Tata Becomes First Indian Brand To Surpass $30 Billion

As per the Brand Finance report, Tata Group became the first Indian brand that surpass the $30 billion in value. Additionally, Tata also stood first in the list of Sustainability Perception Value. With this feat, Tata Group retained its first position as India's most valuable brand. Tata Group's multi-sector dominance, with strategic investments in electronics, EVs, semiconductors, AI and renewables supported in Tata Group's expansion to achieve the feat.

Tata, Infosys, LIC, HDFC and Reliance Among Top 10 Indian Brands To Post Strong 10-Digit Growth

After Tata Group, Infosys, LIC, HDFC, and Reliance were among the top brands of the country in 2025. The Narayana Murthy's co-founded IT company saw its brand value surge by 15% to USD 16.3 billion as it continues to lead in the IT services sector. Whereas, HDFC Group saw its brand value swel by 37% to USD 14.2 billion.

Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), saw its brand value surge by 35% To USD 13.6 billion and demonstrated a commendable growth followed by HCLTech. Larsen & Toubro Group's brand value stood at USD 7.4 billion.
