Akhanda 2 Thaandavam Release Date Announced: When Balakrishna's Telugu Action Film Will Release & Premiere

Nandamuri Balakrishna's much-awaited film Akhanda 2: Thaandavam has finally secured a new release date after being postponed just hours before its original launch. The movie, initially scheduled to hit theaters on December 5, was delayed due to what the makers termed as "unavoidable circumstances."

The production house, 14 Reels Plus, has now confirmed that Akhanda 2 will release worldwide on December 12, 2025, with paid premieres set for December 11. The announcement came on Tuesday night through their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, accompanied by a new promotional poster.

Sharing the update, the makers wrote, "All set for the Divine Destruction at the box office. Feel the MASSive power of #Akhanda2 in theatres from 𝐃𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝟏𝟐 with grand premieres on December 11th. BOOKINGS OPEN SOON!"

Why Release of AKhanda 2 Got Postponed

The delay was caused by a legal dispute involving Eros International Media Limited and 14 Reels Entertainment Private Limited, which led the Madras High Court to impose a stay on the film's release. The dispute, reportedly amounting to nearly Rs 28 crore, was against 14 Reels Entertainment Private Limited. With the matter now resolved, the path is clear for Akhanda 2 to have a smooth theatrical launch.

Akhanda 2 is the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda, and it is directed by Boyapati Sreenu.
