Akhanda 2: Thaandavam Box Office Collection: The Nandamuri Balakrishna's return on the big screen with a sequel of Akhanda has worked in his favour. Despite multiple setbacks, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam hit the box office last week and has managed to cross Rs 60 crore mark. The movie is now racing to join the Rs 100 crore club. Akhanda 2 also continues to be preferred pick among new releases like Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 and The Devil.

Akhanda 2: Thaandavam Box Office Collection:

As per Sacnilk data, Akhanda 2 bagged a box office collection of Rs 66.45 crore by the end of December 15. The movie had an overall 23.47% Telugu occupancy on Monday, December 15, 2025. While its overall occupancy stood at 13.03% in Tamil. Although the occupancy has slowed down after the opening weekend.

Nonetheless, the movie's worldwide collection is currently at Rs 89.35 crore.

During the first weekend, Akhanda 2 bagged a box office of Rs 60.9 crore in India nett, which led the movie to join top 5 Telugu weekends of 2025.

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 and The Devil are also two new releases that hit Indian theatres on December 12 and December 11 respectively. However, Akhanda 2 has outperformed the two.

Further, comedian Kapil Sharma's Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 earned Rs 8.15 crore India nett collection, while its worldwide box office stood at Rs 10.35 crore since December 12.

Is Akhanda 2 A Hit?

A key point to note is that the budget spent in making Akhanda 2. As per reports, the budget for Akhanda 2 could have ranged from Rs 120 crore to Rs 200 crore. To become a hit, as per Koimoi parameters, a movie should give 100% returns on the expenditure. So if Akhanda 2 was made for Rs 120 crore, they will require to earn a box office of Rs 240 crore, which is double the amount they spent.

Another factor to note is that reports don't expect Akhanda 2 to join the Rs 100 crore club. If this happened, then Akhanda 2 would be in a loss. For instance, the makers spent Rs 60 crore to Rs 70 crore on Akhanda 1, and they garnered a gross worldwide collection of Rs 150 crore, making it both profitable and a HIT of that year. Akhanda won the Telangana state Gaddar Award for Second Best Feature Film.
