Air India Initiates Interim Compensation of Rs 25 Lakh for Families of Crash Victims and Survivors
Air India has begun distributing interim compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the families affected by the June 12 plane crash. This includes both the deceased and survivors' families. The airline has also deployed a team of psychologists and doctors in Ahmedabad to offer trauma counselling and psychological support to those impacted.

Compensation and Support Initiatives
The interim compensation payments started on June 20, with three families having received their payments so far. Air India is processing the remaining claims. This interim compensation is in addition to Rs 1 crore announced by Tata Sons, the parent company, to help meet immediate financial needs.
A centralised helpdesk has been operational since June 15 to assist families in processing claims for this interim compensation. This system is designed to streamline documentation and expedite the compensation process. Air India is also reaching out to injured individuals and families of those who lost their lives on the ground to initiate their compensation procedures.
Comprehensive Assistance for Families
Families are receiving additional comprehensive financial assistance during this challenging period. This support covers travel, accommodation, medical, and funeral expenses, with any extra needs being addressed promptly. The airline ensures that at least one caregiver accompanies each family when mortal remains are released from the hospital, facilitating transportation and funerals while maintaining dignity and respect for the deceased.
In addition to financial aid, a team of medical personnel, including nurses and a pharmacist, has been deployed to address ongoing or emerging health needs. Air India stated that this initiative aims to provide holistic support to affected families during this difficult time.
The airline is also assisting families with DNA identification processes. This support ensures that all necessary procedures are handled with care and sensitivity, reflecting Air India's commitment to supporting those affected by this tragedy.
