Air India Collaborates with Tata Group to Aid Families Affected by Ahmedabad Plane Crash
Air India has announced its collaboration with other Tata group companies to support the families of those affected by the Ahmedabad plane crash. The airline is committed to offering comprehensive assistance to the victims' families and loved ones.

In a statement, Air India mentioned that over 400 family members have arrived in Ahmedabad. The airline's teams are on-site, providing necessary support to these individuals. They have also established contact with the relatives of all passengers and crew members involved in the incident.
Support for Families and Investigation
Each affected family in Ahmedabad has been assigned at least one caregiver by Air India. The airline is actively involved in assisting with movements out of Gujarat and repatriation efforts when needed. This support is part of their broader commitment to aid those impacted by the tragedy.
The process of handing over the deceased's remains and personal belongings to their next of kin is currently underway. Air India is ensuring that this process is handled with care and sensitivity, respecting the needs of the grieving families.
Ongoing Investigation and Updates
The airline has pledged full cooperation with the ongoing investigation led by authorities. They will continue to provide updates as more verified information becomes available, ensuring transparency throughout the process.
The tragic incident occurred when a Boeing 787-8 AI171 crashed into a medical college campus shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Out of 242 passengers and crew on board, only one survived. Additionally, 29 people on the ground, including five MBBS students, lost their lives.
