Rupee hits 3-week high on strong equities

The rupee hit a three-week high of 54.52 on sustained selling of the dollar, following a sharp spurt in equities.

Sentiments for equities have improved following a risk on rally across the globe and on hopes that domestically the parliament logjam is resolved. Renewed optimism over clearance of crucial FDI related bills in parliament helped improve sentiments.

The rupee was trading higher by 31 paise at 54.52 at 10.10 am IST.
