Gold, silver futures up on MCX

Gold futures were seen trading higher on Multi Commodity Exchange, gold futures for October contract on MCX was seen trading at Rs 31,151 per 10 grams, higher by 0.17% at 12.30 pm IST.

MCX silver futures slipped by Rs 66 per kg, and was trading at Rs 61,798 per kg.

Delhi spot gold of 99.9% and 99.5% purity was at Rs 31,520 and Rs 31,320 per 10 grams, respectively

Marketmen said sluggish demand due to ongoing 'Shradh', which are considered inauspicious in Hindu mythology for purchasing new things, mainly kept gold prices lower, reports PTI.

Spot gold on Friday which was trading above $1,795 an ounce eased after the number of US jobless fell to their lowest in nearly four years. International gold slipped to $1,778 an ounce after the data.
