Axis Bank net profit surges; meets forecasts

Axis Bank has reported another quarter of sterling performance with the bank posting a net profit of Rs. 11535.20 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to Rs. 9423.50 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.

Total Income has increased from Rs. 60492.70 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 to Rs. 78183.70 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2012. Net non performing assets have gone marginally up to 0.31% from 0.25% in the corresponding period of the previous quarter.

The shares of the company were trading down 1.76% at Rs 1027 on the National Stock Exchange.
