Sensex ends higher; Reliance Infra up

Markets reversed the trend in afternoon session and entered into positive terrain amid uncertain global cues. The Sensex closed higher by 69 points at 16,178 and Nifty higher by 18 points at 5,068.

Among sectoral indices on BSE, most of the sectors were trading in positive terrain. Consumer Goods, realty, FMCG leading the rally.

While on the losing side, the only sectors failed to lure investors were IT, TECk and Consumer Durables

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the top volume gainers were Reliance Infra, Gail, Ster, L&T and IDFC.

And the loser in today trade were Cairn India, ONGC, Maruti, Power grid and Bajaj-Auto.
