RIL Q4 net profit at Rs 4,236 crore

Reliance Industry, led by Mukesh Ambani has posted net profit of Rs 4236 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 against Rs. 5376 crore for the corresponding period of previous year down 21%.

The profit after tax stood at Rs 20,040 crore against Rs 20,286 crore Year-on-Year. The company announced the dividend of Rs 8.5 per share.

Revenues from its petchem segment increased 8.25% to Rs 21,412 in this quarter from Rs 19,781 crore in the previous quarter. Net sales during the period surged 33% to Rs 3,29,904 crore from Rs 2,48,170 crore.

The earnings per share (EPS) dropped to Rs 12.9 against Rs 16.4 (Y-o-Y).

Other Income stood at Rs 2,295 crore against 1,717 crore on the quarter on quarter (Q-o-Q).

Shares of the company on Friday closed at Rs 731.45 down 1.39% on BSE.
