Rupee inches up to 48.93 per dollar

The partially convertible Indian rupee rose by 24 paise to Rs 48.93 per dollar on the Interbank Foreign Exchange amid foreign capital inflows.

The rupee sentiment was boosted by weaker dollar but investors may turn cautious ahead of US job data.

The Indian rupee opened at 49.11 per dollar versus 49.16 yesterday. At 01.27 pm IST, rupee was seen trading at 48.93.

The rupee is expected to linger in the range of 49.00 to 49.30.

Meanwhile, the BSE was seen trading at 17440.35 up by 8.50 points or 0.05% and the 50-share NSE was at 5276.15 up by 6.25 points or 0.12%.
