Bihar Mukyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana: The Bihar government has announced a flagship scheme for women who are planning to start their own business or looking for a job. The new financial assistance scheme will support budding women entrepreneurs by providing an initial assistance of Rs 10,000 through direct benefit transfer to start their business.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently launched the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, also known as Rozgar Yojana and a dedicated portal to invite applications for the same.

What is Mahila Rojgar Yojana?
The Mahila Rojgar Yojana, aka Mahila Rozgar Yojana, is the Bihar government's financial assistance scheme for women planning to start their own business. The scheme will offer financial assistance to one woman from every family in the state to
The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to one woman from every family in the state to start employment of her choice. The scheme will be implemented by the Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Committee (Jeevika).
For the implementation of the scheme in the urban areas of the state, the cooperation of the Urban Development and Housing Department, Government of Bihar, will be sought.
What Is the Benefit Of Mahila Rojgar Yojana?
Beneficiaries of Mahila Rojgar Yojana will get an amount of Rs 10,000 as the first instalment as financial assistance. Only one woman from a family is eligible to receive assistance under the scheme.
According to the official website of the scheme, women can get additional financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh as per requirement after assessment.
Bihar Mahila Rojgar Yojana: What Is The Eligibility?
-All members linked to the self-help groups (SHG) in urban areas are eligible for the benefits of the scheme. But only one woman from one family can apply for the scheme.
-For the scheme, a single family is defined as husband-wife and their unmarried children. Additionally, an unmarried adult woman whose parents are not alive will be considered a single family for the scheme, as per the website.
-The age of the applicant should be 18-60 years.
-The applicant herself or her husband should not be in the category of income tax payer.
-The applicant herself or her husband should not be in government service (regular/contractual).
How To Apply?
The process is slightly different for women from urban areas and women from rural areas.
For women in urban areas, visit the official website of the scheme, ie Jeevika, ie www.brlps.in. The website was launched recently, and people may face issues with the website initially.
-Once you can open the website. Select the option for registration.
-Enter your mobile number, Aadhaar number, bank account details and other types of business.
-Applicant will have to upload a scanned copy of his Aadhaar card, bank passbook (which contains name, account number, IFSC code), photograph and signature on a plain page.
-To avail the benefits of the scheme, it is mandatory for interested women to join a self-help group.
-After receiving their online application, they will be contacted by the community resource worker working in their area to add them to the group. The benefits of the scheme will be provided only after joining the group.
-Once the registration is done, the application will be approved after physical verification.
