The scheme was launched seeking inspiration from the Madhya Pradesh government's Ladli Bahin Yojana, which is also a monthly welfare initiative for women of the state.
Ladki Bahin Yojana: What Is The Age Criteria And Monthly Assistance Amount?
The welfare scheme, functional in Maharashtra, is available for women aged 21 to 65 years. Women beneficiaries can get a monthly assistance of Rs 1,500 every month directly in their bank accounts.
Ladki Bahin Yojana: What Is The Eligibility?
Apart from the age criteria there are multiple criteria set by Maharshtra government to determine the eligibility of beneficiaries of Ladki Bahin Yojana.
According to the Maharashtra government's official website, the applicant's family income must not be more than Rs 2.5 lakh. Additionally, the woman or any other member of the family should not be employed as regular, permanent, or contractual staff in a government department, undertaking, board, or local body.
There is a criterion based on the number of vehicles owned by the family member. The beneficiary or any of her family members should not own a four-wheeler vehicle, except a tractor.
The woman applying for the account should have an operational bank account in her name and must not have received more than Rs 1,500 from any other financial scheme by the government. Women whose family members are current or former MPs or MLAs are not eligible for the scheme.
Ladki Bahin Yojana: What Are The Documents Required?
Applying for the scheme would require multiple documents of the applicant, including her valid Aadhaar card as proof of identity, residence certificate for proof of residency in Maharashtra.
Applicants will be required to submit their birth certificate, ration card, bank passbook, latest photograph, income certificate, etc.
