Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana, also known as Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana, is a central government's social welfare scheme to provide free medical treatment for all senior citizens aged 70 or above to get medical treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh. The scheme covers around 6 crore senior citizens who belong to around 4.5 crore families, according to the Indian government's data.

All senior citizens aged 70 or above, regardless of economic status, are eligible for free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh under this scheme. The age of the beneficiaries must be determined by the age recorded in their Aadhaar card, regardless of economic status.

Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana: Key Documents Required

The only document which is required for Ayushman Vayu Vandana Yojana registration is Aadhaar card. Additionally, Aadhaar-based e-KYC is mandatory for the enrolment and issuance of Ayushman cards for eligible senior citizens.

Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana: How To Apply?

Download and install the Ayushman App, now login as the beneficiary of the scheme. People who have access can also login as an operator.

-Enter your registered mobile number which is linked to your Aadhaar card. Enter the captcha to complete authentication process.

-You will receive an OTP on your mobile, enter the OTP and proceed.

-Allow the application to access your device's location.

-Enter the details of beneficiary, including their resident state, Aadhaar number, etc.

-Finish your Aadhaar e-KYC if the application is unable to fetch the details of Aadhaar beneficiary.

-For Aadhaar eKYC, give consent to OTP verification and provide a declaration and complete required fields.

-Enter the beneficiary's mobile number and OTP.

-Enter additional details. You will be successfully registered after the completion of e-KYC process. After registration, you can download the Ayushman Vay Vandan Card.

Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana Card: How To Download?

The beneficiary can apply for the Ayushman Bharat Senior Citizen Scheme through the official website portal, ie www.beneficiary.nha.gov.in and the Ayushman App (available for Android on the Google Play Store).

You can download the Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana Card after successfully completing the registration process. Beneficiaries can begin accessing treatment from the first day of enrolment. There is no waiting period for any disease or treatment, so coverage starts immediately.

While, the scheme aims to provide universal health coverage to the senior citizens without any income, it covers each and every senior citizen of India regardless of their economic status. As per the National Health Authority, there is no income limit set by the government for eligibility under this scheme. Any Indian citizen aged 70 or above is eligible, irrespective of income.
